Julie Delpy was born on December, 21 1969, in Paris, France.
She is French-American, as she was born in France but naturalized a citizen of the United States of America in 2001. Indeed, she moved there in 1990, and has been living between France and the US since then.
Being the only child of Albert Delpy, a theater director, and Marie Pillet, an actress, it is easy to guess that her early life was already closely related to the world of cinema. Thus, she has always been very familiar to scenic arts and scriptwriting too. When she was a teenager, she started to act in movies by Jean-Luc Godard among others.
She studied filmmaking at New York University's Tisch School of Arts and Actors Studio too in the 1980s.
Her whole career counts more than 30 movies that she wrote, directed and/or also acted in.

Why Her?
If I had to mention someone that I truly admire, I would say Julie Delpy with no hesitation. In my opinion, she stands for the strong and liberated female that any woman would rather be. According to me, her work and her personal life are both exemplary. What I like the most about her is her very particular way to create scripts that are very funny while denouncing numerous social issues.
